Debut of new container shipping company

Copenhagen: Amid the depths of arguably the worst box recession in history a group of pioneers have gathered in Europe to found a new container concern. The Containership Company (TCC) is the name of a new company set up in Copenhagen, which will pick up and operate container vessels in the present market.
“There is a lot of idle tonnage at the moment and we will negotiate with owners of these container vessels to purchase or operate the vessels”, Jakob Tolstrup-Moller told the Danish newspaper Borsen.
Norwegian tycoon John Fredriksen is among the many investors in the venture. TCC expects to start operations in 2010.
Jakob Tolstrup-Moller and Franck Kayser founded the company. Jakob Tolstrup-Moller is presently employed in the Norwegian brokering company Boxton Maritime. Several years ago, Franck Kayser was a star in Maersk Line, but has lately worked in Scandlines and France’s CMA-CGM.
